The Polycrisis

Philosopher and sociologist Edgar Morin coined the term "polycrisis" in 1993 to describe a crisis composed of many crises amplifying and feeding on each other. The Polycrisis is my preferred term for the current confluence of "late stage capitalism" and climate change lying at the root of our current spiral of natural disasters, globally ascendant fascism, increasing "cost of living," and so on. If not interrupted, this spiral very well could lead to the collapse of global society and the loss of its technological achievements, to say nothing of the cost it will exact in terms of misery and death.
